Netball is a team sport where up to seven players per team pass a ball around a court. The aim is to shoot the ball in the net to score a point. There are different positions in a team and each one has an important part to play, making it a good social sport and great for teamwork. Whether you’re a centre, defender, shooter, and keeper there’s a role for you!

Back to Netball sessions provide women of all ages with a gentle re-introduction to the sport.  Run by passionate and enthusiastic coaches, sessions cover the basics of the game including passing, footwork and shooting.  Sessions finish with a friendly game to put the skills you have learnt into practice. Back to Netball operates on a flexible ‘pay and play’ basis, meaning you attend the sessions when you are able to.

Walking Netball is a slower version of the game; it’s netball, but at a walking pace. The game has been designed so that anyone can play it regardless of age or fitness level; from those who have stopped being active due to serious injury to those who believed they had hung up their netball trainers many years ago. Walking Netball allows you to start gently and build up gradually, offering a stepping stone back to netball.

You don’t need any special kit, just clothes that you feel comfortable exercising in and trainers ideally that lace up. You might want to check that your trainers feel strong enough around your ankle, as there is some turning in netball. Make sure you bring some water.
